Well worth the detour!

Stop at ZEC des Passes in Saint-Ludger-de- Milot to register ($11). From there, it’s 70 km to the site. 4x4 or quad vehicle required. Or treat yourself to a pontoon boat excursion right to the eaves of the ancient forest with the Brise du lac Tchitogama inn in Lamarche.
