Zec Rivière-aux-Rats covers an area of 1781 km2, located about 30 km north of Dolbeau- Mistassini. It is the largest ZEC in the Lac-Saint-Jean region and the third largest in Québec, with a 640-km road network.
The lakes in the northern part of the ZEC mainly contain brook trout, whereas there are pike in most of the lakes in the southern zone.
The ZEC has about 450 members, primarily engaged in wildlife harvesting activities.
